Version 1.0.3 of Banished should be available soon. If you play on Steam, it will auto update shortly. Those that bought from gog.com, the Humble Store or direct from the website will have to download the new version from whichever sales portal was used. It may take a few hours for the builds to go live - they were just sent a few minutes ago.
If you used humble bundle or direct from the website and can't find your original download link, you can use the humble key resender to re-request the download link.
Whats changed in 1.0.3?
- * Fixed a potential crash that could occur if two buildings overlapped.
- * Fixed splitting or emptying herds from pastures. This will no longer cause small pastures to become overfull.
- * Added an option to set the scale of status icons. This is useful in ultra wide resolutions where the icons become large.
- * Fixed a bug that caused large population cities to randomly unassign workers.
- * Fixed a pause/lag that would occur as the game reassigned workers to new professions.
- * Fixed a bug that allowed the edges of tunnels to overlap other buildings.
- * Fixed an infinite loop that occured using the path tool when a citizen couldn't get from home to a workplace.
- * Citizens without a workplace will once again do any job on the map. Citizens that have jobs will generally still stay near their workplace unless work to be done has been around for several months and no general laborer has done it.
Keep up the good work! The recent bug fixes got me back into the game once more.
Very nice thank you
Not playing as much as I want to now. Between work and world cup matches LOL. As always, thanks Luke!
Thanks! And thanks for the steam announcement too! Really appreciate not having to dig through forums or whatever to find out what changed.
Although I haven't played in weeks I want to thank you for all the work (too busy with school).
Keep up the great work!
Thank you! Excellent game.
Still waiting an update for optimal laborer`s work. Only weak point of this game, I guess.
Thanks and great job!! Mod kit next...?
Thanks Luke !
I imagine the modding will come soon...
In the meantime, keep up the awesome work!!
Luke,
Thanks for the fixes and for announcing it in proper places like here and Steam news "devlog".
Hello, I hope you will find some time to work on the liGNUx port soon. I am looking forward to it, since I'm hearing good things about this game!
I have been waiting to play Banished forever, but I have not been able to because I have a Mac!
Does anyone know when it will be coming out on Mac or if it is even being developed for Mac!
Please let me know if you do know,Thanks
AWESOME!!!!
The reason i stopped playing banished is i couldnt get over ~900 people without random worker re-assignment and lagging at the same time!!! This is great!
Great, hopefully this fixes my issue of being unable to play anymore because the lack becomes to hard to bare at 1k+ citizens. 😀 (Main reason I sort of stopped playing..)
Now how about those global settings / resource caps for trade docks..
Very nice update, and fast after 1.0.2 and 1.0.3 beta. Good to see you fixed some recent issues already. And good fixes for the bigger towns.
Thanks! Great game!
Eagerly await the mod kit now 😀
"Fixed a pause/lag that would occur as the game reassigned workers to new professions".
It works!! i´m so happy that my workers keeps their jobs and i don´t have to reassign them all the time, thanks so much!!!
Good job! Keep it up!
Could you add another farming cycle in case you harvest early?
My beans was ready for harvest and emptied in mid sommer so i could easily get another batch from them until autumn ended and that would get me a reason for some more farmers/lot incase i want to increase production.
Still waiting for the patch to appear on GOG...
When will we receive the patch on GOG?
The installer (from humble-bundle) does not install.
After "Installing directx" it says "A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected" and rolls back the installation.
Any ideas?
(Win 7, 64-bit)
Good patch 🙂
But we need the mod kit, and a workshop on steam, that is perfect for you (anti crack) and more buyers and too perfect for us ^^
Best version yet!!! Great job. The laborers and other professions are better managed. I still would like to select a second occupation for my farmers. But, this update is fun to play, and got me hooked again.
Dude time to work on the mod tools... Seriously, we can play with a bug or two, but we can't play without new content. I loved this game, but after 3 days i was tired of it, cause it was always the same stuff. We need more buildings, more jobs, more stuff.
ah, the MOAR syndrome strikes again !:-) But yes, it will be fun to have new stuff. There is a rather looong wishlist. Let's take it one step at a time though, taking into consideration the mechanics of the game (for instance, I thought it would be nice to have people who make everyday stuff like pots and baskets (where do they get those baskets they carry around ?) Or a weaver -- those dresses and trousers must be pretty threadbare after twenty years ! All this is kind of implicit now in the game, but… Still, it means a lot of things upstream -- clay resources for potters, for instance... etc. Easy does it. I'm just basking in the glow of the new version…:-) !!!
keep up the good work
Nice work!! 🙂
Good thing old save game files are working with new version (complete reinstall from GOG). Still waiting for Nvidia Optimus fix (still playing on integrated graphic card).
I hate to be -that- guy, but I also would love to see more content.
This game is amazing, but each game plays out roughly the same, with the occasional disaster. Not enough game changers... yet. 🙂
There are two quality of life changes that are simple but would make the game way more fun for me.
1. Add another digit to trade ports, from 9999 max to 99999 max. This allows us to auto-buy orders of more than 10,0000.
2. Stop spawning seed traders after a town has collected all the seeds.
Thanks for the great update!
I'm not sure where the right place for this is, but hopefully here works:
Would it be possible to add a couple select all features? I like to layout a lot of my town from the beginning, and having to individually click on each one to pause construction is excruciatingly time-consuming. I also sometimes forget what is under construction on different corners of the map - it would be nice to be able to see a list of the current builder projects.
Also, it would be great to be able to select all content of any type at a trading post to add to the items being traded.
Thanks again 🙂
We can play saved games ? Hurrah !!!!
And I heartily concur re the seeds (and cattle) merchants ; Give it a rest already !:-))) Once we hit the Never button on them, they shouldn't be back -- or the game shouldn't allow any more to be generated. When you have five of six trading posts, it becomes real tedious...
BTW, one of the reasons my companion and I love this game is because it's NOT Tropico or Stronghold or similar RTS… To each his & her own !
Hey, I noticed that after this update, farmers no longer work as labourers during winter. It quickly becomes annoying when the large clearing jobs can no longer be assigned. This was a cool update, but this is the only thing you should revert.
Migi, there have been various reasons for the change.
Yours however, can easily be done by just setting farmers to 0 and have them take place as laborers for the winter. Generally though, it shouldn't be to big of an issue as they should still help out (eventually).
There is a big problem with ghost roads in this edition.
I typically construct my cities in pause mode. This can take some time. When I make adjustments and delete part of it, some roads are already built and some parts become "ghosts" - tiles that the map sees as roads but are not visible to the player as such. It's possible to build new roads and the road part of structures on top of the ghosts, but can't build proper structures over them. Can't delete them either.
Some other behaviors that are a step down from 1.03beta, in my opinion, are farmers don't stay on station as long, and traders don't deposit inventory into the closest stockpile/barn anymore.
Thank you very much.
(sorry fo translator =/ )
You can add pigs?
You can also add what that production. for example manufacture of clay bricks. Or other production.
Even asking you to do the opportunity to fill stonecutter worked out, that we could build on top of other buildings
Wants to see in the game more challenging combinations of the production line.
Thank you very much.
Congratulations Luke, it's a terrific game. I really hope you still got motivation to keep developing more features/games. Couple thoughts you might want to keep in mind:
- More combinations for some lines of work would be very welcome.
- The animation of hunters/deers was the only one I felt needed improvement. (worker goes meele, stabs deer 3 times while it waits to be murdered) I hope bow/arrow mechanics isn't too hard to implement.
- The Hunter's Cabin needs an increase in it's range effect. It's hard to place it somewhere in the landscape to be effective, unless it's intended to be just 1 per herd.
I wish you the best of luck!
Overall, great game for a light builder. I know how much work it is being a one man crew. Amongst the other requests, I would like to add building animations other than the smoke. Thanks and keep up the creative work that the game industry needs!
Hey!
How do I update my game when I bought it from OnlineKeyStore?
Hey!
I love Banished, I think it's one of the most fun games I have played since Halo 3, and I just want to say thank you!
I have some suggestions for more things that we could have in the game, like buildings.
I suggest buildings like Bakeries, which will produce food from wheat and cow milk etc. Other things like this could be really cool additions to the game 🙂
I bought the game this week on GOG and I launched my first real game today. I know I'll have lot of fun playing this! Thanks you! 😛
Has the potential to be a wonderful game and it is great to see the ongoing effort to improve it. Currently, alas, it is barely playable because the infamous march of death is back, worse than ever. You can have vast amounts of food, heaps of merchants and labourers, good roads to speed communications, markets and barns everywhere, food production distributed widely ... and citizens starving to death in massive numbers. Once the map starts to get filled in, you no longer play, you just try everything you can think of to stop citizens doing lemming marches. After a while it gets too frustrating and pointless and you just give up. This *really* needs to be fixed.
That bug aside, Banished is great!
Hard to believe that in its version 1.0 the product can be fantastic as it is being.
Congratulations to staff and much success! You will go far with this quality.
Everyone here surely have suggestions to include in the game, and it fits a lot of things to get even better.
"Banished" has everything to be the best of all time in the category!
How about adding pig?
I sure wish there was an indicator telling me what kind of building I already have.
the indicator can be on the building selection box itself.
I love this game!!!!!!
I found myself building extra of the same building sometimes.
It would be nice to have a double profession selection. Tailor/Herbalist What way he when he is full in the tailoring, he can auto go to herbalising. <--- lol
same as herdsman/farmer
I know that in the future you we will have horses pulled wagon traitors come to town if we build the road to the edge of the map.
we need a bakery.
and the workers need temporary tents so that wont starve or freeze. Here's where the double profession come in handy, Woodcutter/hunter He would make sure his tent is full before going back to work.
Thank you for this game.
I'm still waiting for native linux version. I know i can play with wine, but native steam version would be great.
Mac version would be great too. Fortunately, I use Boot Camp on my computer, but a native version would be great. I'm sure OpenCL and OpenGL can do magic.
i can't split she eps and cows after updating the game to 1.03 .
